Blog 16: 2-Hour Meeting Answer #2

  1. What is the best way to grow a healthy, organic, flower garden?
  2. My second answer to my EQ is the importance of planning your garden.
  3. It is important to plan a garden because if you don't you will make things harder on yourself. Some details would be:
  • Having to know which plants you are planting. For example, are you planting annual flowers or perennial flowers and know the kind of care for each flower.
  • Knowing how big your garden is going to be and where things are going to be located. An example would be pathways. If you do not plan your pathways you could potentially step and harm on you flowers. This could then harm the plants and potentially kill them, if that happens, it would be a waste of time. Also, you need to know what type of water system you will have and other things like that.
  • Knowing what soil you are going to be using or be dealing with. When planning your garden you also have to consider soil. Soil gives nutrients to plants and different types of soil provide different things, so you have to keep that in mind.
         4. My most important source is a tie between my third interview and the book titled, "The         Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening".
         5. I plan to continue learning about my 2nd answer by planning my own garden and growing one. I also want to research it in more detail.
